Today is the first anniversary of the day you left us. This has been the most difficult year of my life but now, as we have reached the end of the first year, I've begun to see and feel some hope. Your beautiful soul was released from the body that caused you much harm so you could run free. I believe you never left us, your existence just changed. I can still feel your presence although I can't see you. Your life continues in me, in all the things you loved, with the people you loved. Today, as I light candles for your memory and take flowers to your stone, I will not only cry tears of sorrow for losing you but tears of gratitude for the times we shared together.
